Description

These Valentine’s Oreo Truffles are a delightful no-bake treat perfect for celebrating love. Combining crushed golden Oreo cookies with creamy cream cheese and a touch of pink food coloring, these bite-sized truffles are coated in smooth vanilla candy coating and topped with festive Valentine’s sprinkles. Easy to prepare and irresistibly sweet, they make an ideal dessert for parties, gifts, or a fun homemade treat.

Ingredients

Scale

Truffle Mixture

  • 36-42 golden Oreo cookies
  • 6 ounces cream cheese, room temperature
  • 20 drops pink food coloring, divided (adjust to desired color)

Coating and Decoration

  • 16 ounces vanilla candy coating
  • Favorite Valentine sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Crush the Oreos: Place 36 Oreo cookies into a food processor and pulse until you achieve fine crumbs. Alternatively, place the cookies in a sealed bag and crush them finely using a rolling pin.
  2. Mix truffle ingredients: Transfer the Oreo crumbs to a mixing bowl or leave them in the food processor bowl. Add the softened cream cheese and 10 drops of pink food coloring. Mix thoroughly until fully combined and the mixture has a dough-like consistency.
  3. Adjust consistency and shape: If the mixture is too wet to hold its shape, gradually add more Oreo crumbs. Use a small ice cream scoop, melon baller, rounded teaspoon, or candy scoop to portion out uniform amounts. Roll each portion between your palms to form firm 1 1/4 inch balls (or your preferred size).
  4. Freeze the truffles: Place the rolled balls on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper. Freeze them while you prepare the coating; this helps the truffles hold their shape during dipping. You should get about 24 truffles.
  5. Melt the candy coating: Break up the vanilla candy coating into smaller pieces and place them in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 20-second intervals, stirring between each, until the coating is fully melted and smooth. This typically takes 1 to 2 minutes.
  6. Dip the truffles: Using a fork or candy dipping tool, dip each truffle into the melted coating, ensuring it is fully covered. Gently tap the fork against the bowl’s edge to remove any excess coating.
  7. Decorate: Place the coated truffles back on the parchment-lined cookie sheet. Immediately sprinkle them with Valentine-themed sprinkles while the coating is still soft.
  8. Repeat dipping and decorating: Continue dipping and decorating the remaining truffles until all are coated.
  9. Set the coating: Place the tray of decorated truffles in the refrigerator for at least 15 minutes to allow the coating to harden.
  10. Serve and enjoy: Remove truffles from the fridge and serve at room temperature for the best flavor and texture.

Notes

  • You can adjust the pink food coloring quantity to achieve your desired shade.
  • If the truffle mixture is too sticky, add more crushed Oreos to firm it up.
  • Use parchment paper or silicone mats to prevent sticking.
  • Truffles can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
  • For variation, try different types of candy coatings or sprinkles.
