Ingredients
Scale
Cinnamon Rolls and Cream Base
- 2 cans Pillsbury Grands! Cinnabon Cinnamon Rolls
- 1 cup Heavy cream
- 1 stick Butter (1/2 cup)
- 3/4 cup Brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
Frosting
- 4 ounces Cream cheese, softened
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
- Packaged icing from cinnamon rolls (usually about 1/3 cup)
Instructions
- Preheat and Prepare Dish: Preheat your oven to 350°F and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with non-stick spray to prevent sticking.
- Make Cinnamon Sugar Mixture: Melt the butter in a microwave-safe bowl, then stir in the brown sugar and cinnamon until well combined.
- Add Heavy Cream: Pour 1 cup of heavy cream evenly across the bottom of the baking dish to cover the surface. Reserve a little cream to drizzle over the rolls later.
- Arrange Cinnamon Rolls: Open the cans and separate the cinnamon rolls. Place each roll into the baking dish, spacing them as evenly as possible without tightly packing since they will expand during baking. Drizzle any remaining heavy cream over the top of the rolls.
- Add Cinnamon Sugar Topping: Evenly spoon and distribute the cinnamon sugar and butter mixture over each cinnamon roll to coat the tops.
- Bake Covered: Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 35 minutes. This helps the rolls soak up the cream deeply.
- Bake Uncovered: Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes until the cream is mostly absorbed and the cinnamon rolls are golden brown on top.
- Cool Rolls: Take the rolls out of the oven and allow them to cool for 10 minutes to set up slightly before frosting.
- Prepare Frosting: In a bowl, combine the packaged icing that came with the cinnamon rolls, softened cream cheese, and vanilla extract. Stir well until smooth and creamy. If needed, add a small splash of cream to reach a spreadable consistency.
- Frost and Serve: Spread the cream cheese frosting evenly over the warm cinnamon rolls and serve immediately while soft and gooey.
Notes
- Do not pack the cinnamon rolls too tightly in the dish as they will expand during baking.
- Use full-fat heavy cream for the best texture and flavor in the cream bath.
- Let the rolls cool for 10 minutes before frosting to prevent the frosting from melting too much.
- If you prefer a thinner frosting, add cream a teaspoon at a time until desired consistency is reached.
- This recipe is best enjoyed warm on the day of baking for maximum gooeyness.
