Ingredients
Scale
Cookie Truffle Mixture
- 2 cups crushed sugar cookies (about 10-12 sugar cookies)
- 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
Coating and Decoration
- 1 bag (10 oz) vanilla flavored melting wafers
- Red & green sprinkles
Instructions
- Prepare Cookie Truffle Mixture: Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper or tin foil. Crush the sugar cookies into fine crumbs using a food processor or by placing them in a sealed bag and crushing with a rolling pin. In a mixing bowl, combine the crushed cookie crumbs and softened cream cheese until fully mixed and forming a dough-like consistency.
- Form Truffle Balls: Roll the cookie mixture into 1 tablespoon-sized balls and place them evenly spaced on the prepared cookie sheet. Freeze the balls for 10 minutes to firm them up for coating.
- Coat Truffles: Melt the vanilla flavored melting wafers according to the package instructions, usually by microwaving in short bursts and stirring until smooth. Using a fork, dip each chilled truffle ball into the melted wafers, ensuring it is fully coated, then place it back onto the cookie sheet. Drizzle additional melted wafers over the coated truffles and immediately sprinkle with red and green sprinkles for a festive touch.
- Chill and Serve: Freeze the coated truffles for 5 minutes to set the coating, then transfer them to the refrigerator to store until ready to serve. Enjoy chilled for best flavor and texture.
