Description
A simple and delicious one-pan chicken recipe served with buttery garlic egg noodles, perfect for a quick weeknight dinner.
Ingredients
Scale
Chicken
- 2 chicken breasts
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 2 tablespoons butter (for cooking chicken)
Noodles
- 8 oz egg noodles
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
Garnish
- Parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Prepare the skillet: Melt 2 tablespoons of butter in a large skillet over medium heat to prepare for cooking the chicken.
- Season the chicken: Season the chicken breasts evenly with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning, ensuring each piece is well coated.
- Cook the chicken: Place the chicken breasts in the skillet and cook for about 6-7 minutes on each side until they are cooked through. Once done, remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
- Simmer the broth: Pour the chicken broth into the same skillet and bring it to a gentle simmer, scraping up any browned bits from the pan for extra flavor.
- Cook the noodles: Add the egg noodles to the simmering broth and cook according to the package instructions until tender, which usually takes about 7-8 minutes.
- Add garlic and butter: In the last minute of the noodles cooking, stir in the minced garlic and the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter, mixing well to create rich, buttery garlic noodles.
- Serve: Slice the cooked chicken breasts and serve them over the buttery garlic noodles. Garnish with fresh parsley for a pop of color and freshness.
Notes
- Use boneless, skinless chicken breasts for quicker cooking.
- Adjust seasoning to taste, especially salt and pepper.
- You can substitute egg noodles with any pasta of choice.
- If chicken broth is not available, vegetable broth or water with bouillon can be used.
- For extra flavor, add a splash of lemon juice or sprinkle some grated parmesan cheese on top.
