Ingredients
Scale
Base Ingredients
- 3 cups Cereal (small flakes or shapes like Cheerios or Rice Krispies)
- 1 cup Nut Butter (creamy or crunchy peanut butter, almond butter, or sunbutter)
- 1/2 cup Liquid Sweetener (agave syrup, honey, or brown rice syrup)
- 1/2 teaspoon Salt
Optional
- Protein Powder (adjust quantity according to needs)
Instructions
- Prepare Pan: Line an 8-inch square pan with wax or parchment paper to ensure easy removal of the bars once set.
- Warm Nut Butter: If the nut butter is thick, microwave it for about 15-20 seconds to soften and make mixing easier.
- Mix Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the chosen cereal, nut butter, liquid sweetener, and salt. Mix thoroughly until the ingredients are evenly blended. Optionally, add protein powder and mix it in well.
- Press Into Pan: Transfer the mixture to the prepared pan. Use a spatula or your hands to press it down firmly and compact it evenly across the pan.
- Chill Bars: Place the pan in the freezer for about 30 minutes to allow the bars to firm up and set properly.
- Slice and Serve: Once firm, remove from the freezer and lift the bars out using the parchment paper. Cut into 12 servings and enjoy immediately or store for later.
Notes
- You can customize the bars by using different types of cereals and nut butters according to your preference.
- If you prefer sweeter bars, increase the amount of liquid sweetener slightly.
- Adding protein powder is optional but recommended for a protein boost.
- Store bars in an airtight container in the refrigerator or freezer to keep them fresh longer.
- If bars soften too much at room temperature, simply refrigerate to firm them up again.
