Description

These Irresistible Cereal Bars are a simple and healthy treat made with just three main ingredients. Perfect for a quick snack or breakfast on the go, they combine your favorite cereal, nut butter, and liquid sweetener for a chewy, flavorful bar that’s both satisfying and nutritious. With an optional protein boost, these bars can be customized to fit your dietary needs.

Ingredients

Scale

Base Ingredients

  • 3 cups Cereal (small flakes or shapes like Cheerios or Rice Krispies)
  • 1 cup Nut Butter (creamy or crunchy peanut butter, almond butter, or sunbutter)
  • 1/2 cup Liquid Sweetener (agave syrup, honey, or brown rice syrup)
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt

Optional

  • Protein Powder (adjust quantity according to needs)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Pan: Line an 8-inch square pan with wax or parchment paper to ensure easy removal of the bars once set.
  2. Warm Nut Butter: If the nut butter is thick, microwave it for about 15-20 seconds to soften and make mixing easier.
  3. Mix Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the chosen cereal, nut butter, liquid sweetener, and salt. Mix thoroughly until the ingredients are evenly blended. Optionally, add protein powder and mix it in well.
  4. Press Into Pan: Transfer the mixture to the prepared pan. Use a spatula or your hands to press it down firmly and compact it evenly across the pan.
  5. Chill Bars: Place the pan in the freezer for about 30 minutes to allow the bars to firm up and set properly.
  6. Slice and Serve: Once firm, remove from the freezer and lift the bars out using the parchment paper. Cut into 12 servings and enjoy immediately or store for later.

Notes

  • You can customize the bars by using different types of cereals and nut butters according to your preference.
  • If you prefer sweeter bars, increase the amount of liquid sweetener slightly.
  • Adding protein powder is optional but recommended for a protein boost.
  • Store bars in an airtight container in the refrigerator or freezer to keep them fresh longer.
  • If bars soften too much at room temperature, simply refrigerate to firm them up again.
