Description

A soothing and aromatic Honey Lavender Latte made with a delicate lavender-infused honey syrup, rich espresso, and steamed milk, perfect for a relaxing coffee break.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Honey Lavender Syrup

  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon dried culinary lavender
  • 1 tablespoon honey

For the Latte

  • 2 shots espresso or 1/2 cup strong brewed coffee
  • 3/4 cup milk (any kind)
  • Optional: additional honey and lavender buds for garnish

Instructions

  1. Make the honey lavender syrup: In a small saucepan, bring water and dried culinary lavender to a simmer over medium heat. Remove from heat, stir in honey until dissolved, and let the mixture steep for 5 minutes. Then strain out the lavender buds and set the syrup aside.
  2. Brew the coffee: Prepare 2 shots of espresso or 1/2 cup of strong brewed coffee and pour it into your serving mug.
  3. Add syrup to coffee: Stir in 1 to 2 teaspoons of the honey lavender syrup into the coffee to sweeten and infuse with lavender flavor.
  4. Steam and froth the milk: Heat the milk until steaming hot, then froth it using a milk frother or vigorously whisk to create foam.
  5. Assemble the latte: Pour the steamed milk over the coffee and syrup mixture, holding back the foam with a spoon. Then spoon the frothy foam on top to finish.
  6. Garnish and serve: Optionally drizzle extra honey or sprinkle some dried lavender buds on top for garnish. Serve immediately and enjoy.

Notes

  • You can use any type of milk including dairy, almond, oat, or soy.
  • Adjust the amount of honey lavender syrup to your preferred sweetness level.
  • For a stronger lavender flavor, let the syrup steep a bit longer but avoid overpowering the coffee.
  • Use fresh or dried culinary-grade lavender only; other types may be bitter or unsafe to consume.
  • If you don’t have a milk frother, a whisk or shaking hot milk vigorously in a jar can create foam.
