Ingredients
Scale
Pizza Dough
- 1 package Refrigerated Pizza Dough (homemade pizza dough works perfectly too)
Seasonings
- 1 teaspoon Garlic Salt (or garlic powder as a substitute)
- 1 teaspoon Italian Seasoning (dried oregano can be used in a pinch)
Fillings
- 2 cups Shredded Mozzarella Cheese (cheddar cheese as alternative)
- 1/2 cup Parmesan Cheese (optional)
- 1 cup Pepperoni (or diced bell peppers for vegetarian version)
Dipping Sauce
- 1 cup Marinara Sauce (or ranch dressing or favorite dipping sauce)
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 425°F (218°C) and lightly grease a baking sheet to prevent sticking.
- Roll Out Dough: Dust a clean surface with flour and roll out the pizza dough into a large rectangle, approximately ¼ inch thick to ensure the rolls have a thin yet sturdy base.
- Season Dough: Evenly sprinkle garlic salt and Italian seasoning over the surface of the dough for a flavorful base layer.
- Add Fillings: Spread the shredded mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses along with the diced pepperoni evenly, leaving about a ½ inch border along the edges to help with sealing.
- Form Log: Carefully roll the dough tightly from one short end to the other, forming a log shape, then pinch the seam to seal completely.
- Slice Rolls: Using a serrated knife or pizza cutter, slice the log into 1-inch thick sections ensuring uniform pizza rolls.
- Arrange and Bake: Place the pizza rolls cut side up on the greased baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 10 to 12 minutes until golden and cheese is melted.
- Serve: Remove from oven and serve the pizza rolls hot alongside marinara sauce or your preferred dipping sauce.
Notes
- Use homemade pizza dough for a fresh flavor and customizable texture.
- For a vegetarian option, substitute pepperoni with diced bell peppers or other favorite vegetables.
- Ensure the dough is rolled evenly to avoid uneven baking.
- Serve immediately for the best taste and texture.
- Parmesan cheese is optional but adds extra depth to the flavor.
- Leftovers can be reheated in the oven for best texture retention.
