Ingredients
Scale
Green Layer
- 1 (3 oz) box lime Jello
- 1 cup boiling water
- 1 cup cold water
White Creamy Layer
- 2 envelopes unflavored gelatin
- 1 cup boiling water
- 1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk
Red Layer
- 1 (3 oz) box cherry Jello
- 1 cup boiling water
- 1 cup cold water
Toppings (Optional)
- Whipped cream or Cool Whip
- Fresh cranberries or strawberries
- Crushed graham cracker or gold sugar
Instructions
- Prepare the Green Layer: Dissolve the lime Jello in 1 cup of boiling water, stirring for about 2 minutes until completely dissolved. Add 1 cup of cold water and mix thoroughly. Pour this mixture into a 9×13-inch glass dish and refrigerate for about 1 hour or until the layer is fully set and firm.
- Make the White Creamy Layer: While the green layer is setting, dissolve 2 envelopes of unflavored gelatin in 1 cup boiling water, stirring until fully dissolved. Add the sweetened condensed milk and mix until smooth. Allow this mixture to cool to room temperature before proceeding.
- Layer the White Creamy Mixture: Once the green layer is firm, gently pour the cooled milk and gelatin mixture over it in the dish. Be careful to pour slowly to avoid disturbing the green layer. Place the dish back in the refrigerator and chill for 45 minutes to 1 hour until this layer is set.
- Prepare the Red Layer: Dissolve the cherry Jello in 1 cup boiling water, stirring well to fully dissolve. Add 1 cup cold water and mix. Let this mixture cool to room temperature. Once cooled, gently spoon or pour it over the set white layer. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours or until the red layer is fully set.
- Serve: After all layers are firm, slice the jello into 12 squares. Top each serving with whipped cream or Cool Whip. Optionally, garnish with fresh cranberries or strawberries and sprinkle crushed graham crackers or gold sugar over the top for added texture and festive appeal.
Notes
- Make sure each layer is fully set before adding the next to maintain distinct layers.
- Pour toppings slowly and carefully to avoid mixing the layers.
- Use a sharp knife warmed in hot water to get clean slices.
- The dessert can be prepared a day ahead and kept refrigerated to allow layers to set fully for easier slicing.
- Optional garnishes enhance the festive look and add texture but can be omitted for a simpler presentation.
