Description

This easy Crockpot Chicken and Stuffing recipe combines tender chicken breasts with creamy soup, tangy sour cream, savory stuffing mix, and nutritious green beans for a comforting one-pot meal perfect for busy weeknights or lazy weekends.

Ingredients

Scale

Chicken

  • 2 lbs boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 teaspoon garlic salt

Creme Mixture

  • 1 (10.5 oz) can cream of chicken soup (homemade or store-bought)
  • 1 cup sour cream

Other Ingredients

  • 1 box (6 ounces) Stove Top chicken flavored stuffing mix
  • 1 bag (12 ounces) frozen green beans

Instructions

  1. Prepare the chicken: Place the boneless, skinless chicken breasts in the crock pot. You may choose to filet the chicken for smaller pieces, but this step is optional. Season the chicken evenly with garlic salt to infuse flavor.
  2. Mix the creamy sauce: In a medium bowl, combine the cream of chicken soup and sour cream thoroughly until smooth and well blended.
  3. Add the cream mixture: Spread the soup and sour cream mixture evenly over the chicken breasts in the crock pot, ensuring the chicken is well covered.
  4. Top with stuffing: Sprinkle the entire box of Stove Top chicken flavored stuffing mix evenly over the creamy layer on top of the chicken.
  5. Add green beans: Layer the frozen green beans on top of the stuffing mix, distributing them evenly across the surface.
  6. Cook: Secure the lid on the crock pot. Cook on high for 3 to 4 hours or on low for 6 to 8 hours, until the chicken is cooked through and tender and the stuffing has absorbed the flavors.

Notes

  • Fileting the chicken breasts is optional but helps the chicken cook faster and mix better with stuffing.
  • You can make homemade cream of chicken soup as a substitute for the canned version for a fresher taste.
  • Adjust cooking time based on your crock pot’s heat settings and thickness of chicken breasts.
  • For additional flavor, sprinkle some black pepper or dried herbs like thyme inside before cooking.
  • Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for 3-4 days and reheated gently.
