Description

A classic homemade banana bread recipe featuring ripe bananas, butter, and a touch of sweetness. This moist and flavorful loaf is perfect for breakfast, snacks, or dessert and is easy to prepare with simple pantry ingredients.

Ingredients

Scale

Banana Bread Ingredients

  • 3 ripe bananas
  • ½ cup (1 stick) butter, softened
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda

Instructions

  1. Prepare the banana mixture: Peel and mash the 3 ripe bananas in a large bowl until smooth. Add the softened butter and sugar, mixing thoroughly until the ingredients are well combined and creamy.
  2. Add eggs and dry ingredients: Beat in the 2 eggs until incorporated. In a separate bowl, whisk together the 2 cups of flour and 1 teaspoon of baking soda. Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet banana mixture, stirring just until combined to avoid overmixing.
  3. Bake the banana bread: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a loaf pan or line it with parchment paper. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top. Bake for approximately 55 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow the bread to cool before removing from the pan and slicing.

Notes

  • Use very ripe bananas with brown spots for the best natural sweetness and flavor.
  • You can substitute half of the all-purpose flour with whole wheat flour for a healthier variation.
  • Feel free to add ½ cup of walnuts or chocolate chips to the batter for extra texture and taste.
  • Store banana bread in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or in the refrigerator for up to a week.
