Banana Bread Ingredients
- 3 ripe bananas
- ½ cup (1 stick) butter, softened
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
Instructions
- Prepare the banana mixture: Peel and mash the 3 ripe bananas in a large bowl until smooth. Add the softened butter and sugar, mixing thoroughly until the ingredients are well combined and creamy.
- Add eggs and dry ingredients: Beat in the 2 eggs until incorporated. In a separate bowl, whisk together the 2 cups of flour and 1 teaspoon of baking soda. Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet banana mixture, stirring just until combined to avoid overmixing.
- Bake the banana bread: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a loaf pan or line it with parchment paper. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top. Bake for approximately 55 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow the bread to cool before removing from the pan and slicing.
Notes
- Use very ripe bananas with brown spots for the best natural sweetness and flavor.
- You can substitute half of the all-purpose flour with whole wheat flour for a healthier variation.
- Feel free to add ½ cup of walnuts or chocolate chips to the batter for extra texture and taste.
- Store banana bread in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or in the refrigerator for up to a week.
