Description

This Chicken Broccoli Casserole is a comforting, cheesy dish perfect for a family dinner. It combines tender chicken, fresh broccoli, and creamy broccoli cheese soup, topped with crispy stuffing and melted cheddar cheese for a deliciously satisfying meal.

Ingredients

Scale

Stuffing

  • 1 package (6 ounces) chicken stuffing mix
  • 1 1/2 cups water

Main Casserole

  • 2 cups cubed cooked chicken
  • 2 cups fresh broccoli florets
  • 1 can (10-3/4 ounces) condensed broccoli cheese soup, undiluted
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat and Prepare Stuffing: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare the stuffing mix according to the package directions, using only 1 1/2 cups of water to ensure the correct consistency and flavor.
  2. Combine Ingredients: Grease an 11×7 inch baking dish. In a large bowl, mix together the cooked cubed chicken, fresh broccoli florets, and undiluted condensed broccoli cheese soup until well combined. Transfer this mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish.
  3. Add Topping and Bake: Spread the prepared stuffing evenly over the chicken and broccoli mixture. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese on top. Cover the dish with foil and bake for 20 minutes. Then uncover and continue baking for an additional 10 to 15 minutes until the cheese is melted and the casserole is heated through.
  4. Rest and Serve: Remove the casserole from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes. This allows the casserole to set, making it easier to serve and enhancing the flavors.

Notes

  • You can use leftover cooked chicken or rotisserie chicken for convenience.
  • Fresh broccoli can be substituted with frozen broccoli florets if needed; just be sure to thaw and drain excess water.
  • For extra flavor, consider adding a pinch of garlic powder or onion powder to the chicken and broccoli mixture.
  • If you prefer a crispier topping, broil the casserole uncovered for the last 2-3 minutes but watch carefully to avoid burning.
  • This casserole can be assembled ahead of time and refrigerated before baking.
