Description

These delicious Breakfast Sliders combine savory sausage, crispy bacon, fluffy scrambled eggs, and melty Colby Jack cheese all nestled inside soft mini pretzel buns. Topped with a buttery maple glaze and baked to perfection, these sliders make a perfect hearty breakfast or brunch treat that’s both satisfying and easy to prepare.

Ingredients

Scale

Sliders

  • 9 mini pretzel slider buns, sliced into top buns and bottom buns
  • 4–5 strips bacon
  • 16 oz ground pork sausage
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • Pinch of salt and freshly cracked black pepper
  • 4 slices Colby Jack cheese
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter, divided
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup
  • Optional: chopped fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking dish or baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and make cleanup easier.
  2. Cook Bacon: Heat a large skillet or cast iron pan over medium-high heat. Cook the bacon strips until they are crispy and golden, then transfer them to a paper towel–lined plate to drain excess grease.
  3. Cook Sausage: Carefully drain off excess bacon grease from the pan, leaving about 1 tablespoon for flavor. Add the ground pork sausage to the pan and cook it until it’s browned and fully cooked, breaking it apart as it cooks. Remove the pan from heat once done.
  4. Scramble Eggs: In a medium bowl, whisk the eggs together with milk, salt, and freshly cracked black pepper. Heat a second skillet over medium heat and melt part of the butter. Pour in the egg mixture and softly scramble the eggs just until they are set but still moist.
  5. Assemble Sliders: Place the bottom halves of the pretzel buns in the prepared baking dish. Layer evenly with the cooked sausage, scrambled eggs, slices of Colby Jack cheese, and crispy bacon, then top each with the bun tops.
  6. Prepare Maple Butter Glaze: Melt the remaining butter in a microwave-safe bowl and stir in the maple syrup until combined. Brush this glaze generously over the tops of the bun lids for a sweet and savory finish.
  7. Bake: Bake the assembled sliders uncovered in the preheated oven for 10–15 minutes, until the cheese is melted and the buns are warmed through and slightly toasted.
  8. Serve: Remove the sliders from the oven, garnish with chopped fresh parsley if desired, and serve warm for a delicious breakfast or brunch option.

Notes

  • You can substitute the ground pork sausage with a turkey or chicken sausage for a leaner option.
  • If pretzel buns are unavailable, soft slider buns or dinner rolls can be used as alternatives.
  • Adjust the maple syrup brushing based on your sweetness preference.
  • Leftovers can be refrigerated and reheated in an oven or toaster oven to maintain crispiness.
  • For extra flavor, consider adding sautéed onions or peppers to the sausage mixture.
